Sargo Festival 26. Açores Ribeira Grande . Portugal“Recordação
Facing the invisible sea, two yellow bodies approach each other as if holding time in their hands.
On the left, a boat called “Recordação.”
It is not just wood, nor just a name, it is floating memory. It is everything that departs, carrying with it stories, promises, silences.
In the Azores, the sea is always more than a horizon: it is destiny and absence, it is sustenance and longing. Each departure contains an imagined return. Each journey leaves something suspended on land.
On the right, the house.
Not as a building, but as a fixed heart. As a place where love learns to wait. In Ribeira Grande, where life is written between the mountain and the ocean, the house is what resists the invisible tides. It holds voices, smells, memories that do not cross the sea, but accompany it.
Between the boat and the home, the two yellow bodies become a bridge. The color vibrates like an intimate beacon: protection, alert, permanence. They do not belong only to the space, they belong to each other. They are the promise that even when the sea calls, there is always an invisible thread that connects departure to return.
Part of the Sargo Festival, the work echoes the Atlantic identity: to live is to cross, but to love is to stay connected.
“Recordação” is not nostalgia.
It is what remains when everything moves.
